My thoughts on the next gen consoles.

Lots of folks prefer consoles because once you buy one, you know that it will run any game released on that machine without any issue.
PS5 was released on November, 2020. We are almost 6 years onto the release. So its time for the next generation of consoles.

Specs wise the PS5 was equivalent to 2070 Super at a raster level and 2060 super when it came to raytracing.
Assuming they try to keep the cost around the same adjusted for inflation, the equivalent graphics chip today would be about 640 dollars which is RTX 5070.
So, a 100% uplift in raster and 3x in raytracing. If they decide to use AMD, we can assume 1.5-2x in raytracing.
Price wise we can expect it to go around 650 - 700$ based inflation adjusted prices.

But imo there is another dark horse, Apple.
M6 max if released today would already be equivalent to that performance, but M7 pro like we are hearing would actually trade blows with it or might beat it too. This along with the gaming controller rumours we have been hearing (albeit this is for iphone), If apple decides to put the chip in an apple tv and release it along with controller, we might genuinely have another interesting gaming machine in our hands.

Thats all for now. The next 1-2 years look interesting as we are gearing up for GTA 6 release, PS6, the new XBOX's, steam machine and who knows, maybe apple.
